Core strength & Conditioning
It is absolutely imperative that dancers are strong, physically fit, and able to endure the rigors of dance performance. Proper conditioning allows dancers the opportunity to strengthen their bodies to compliment their dance training and prevent injuries. Conditioning includes cardiovascular exercises, core work, and a special focus on developing back, shoulder, and arm strength. Throughout every class students are constantly reminded of the purpose of each exercise so they can apply it to their dancing and enhance their placement and body alignment. Dancers who incorporate conditioning into their training are bound to see vast improvements in performance, stamina, and technical aptitude!
Core strength and conditioning classes are required for performance based ballet students but are also open to recreational dancers and adults. These classes are expected to be challenging, but students are always encouraged to pace themselves carefully to avoid injury and build strength gradually through healthy increments.
